Open Question: Wedding vow renewal on 14th anniversary after 2 year separation. Ideas and help?

Monday, August 4th, 2008

My husband and I were separated for 2 years and our divorce was almost completed….the only step left to complete was the final hearing. We have since decided to get back together and would like to have a vow-renewal ceremony on our 14th anniversary (Nov. 2). There are things I’d like to include this time around that I didn’t do the first time, such as have my hair and makeup done, release butterflies at the ceremony, etc…. I’ve looked at some sites already, but I’m looking for more DOs and DON’TS…..and suggestions….I want this to be a really neat and memorable occasion, but I don’t want it to be socially unacceptable in any way (for example, I know that it’s inappropriate to ask for gifts at a vow renewal). What is acceptable to do? We plan to get new rings as we both pawned our originals, having not planned on getting back together! LOL We want our 9 year old daughter and 7 year old son to be involved, but we’re not sure exactly how…..our daughter has always wanted to be a flower girl and has never had the opportunity….would that be OK? Any ideas and input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. :)

Resolved Question: please help with rude mom

Monday, August 4th, 2008

Today was my daughter birthday party. To start off with my mom brought my rude sister who never speaks a word to me knowing this would aggravate me.I didn’t say anything and was as polite as could be.Then,my ex husband and I got her an ipod. When the gift was opened she turned to my sister and rolled her eyes. I thought maybe she didn’t know what it was and why we would choose that gift. So I said she is always stealing mine or her older brothers so we got her one.Do you Know what one is. She just started screaming I am not stupid and to old to know. She keept going on.I asked her not to yell at me there was no reason for it. She does these kinds of things alot how should I handle this situations in the future.
P.S. at my sons birthday this year we choose not to have a party to avoid any issues and she tried to kick in my front door numerous times and sat in my driveway all night to tell my husband I was having an affair with the guy in the house which was my husbands friend he had asked to go over there tell he could get off work. He works really late. Because he was afraid she would get through the door. She was out there for 7 hrs. I didn’t call the police because she is my mom next time I will though. My husband told her he too if it ever happened again.I am just out of ideas and so frustrated I just want some peaceful holidays and things with my children It happens over every get together on christmas she demands we spend almost the whole entire day and gets mad when my kids have to go to there dad’s or i have to go with my husband to his family. please help
